Meaning of the name 'Shu Shin'
Because of the full devotion with which our members show enthusiasm for our club, and the correct attitude of our shihan Erik Melotte and the board, our soke Irie Sensei has thought of a new, appropriate name for us. We proudly present the new name  SHU SHIN DOJO.
The meaning of this name is: “Constant learning school to shape the right way to your heart and mind

The practise of KoKoDo ju-jutsu is a quest for the soul, our being. You get a lead, and find the right path. Only by constantly repeating you will obtain mastery. It's like a bird that needs the constant repeating of beating his wings to be able to continue to fly and to get higher each time.

Below is an explanation of the different kanji in our name:

Shu (pronounce like syu) means 'to study', 'to master', 'to get better', 'to improve oneself', 'to learn'.

Shin means 'heart' or 'spirit' in the meaning of willpower, courage, daring, inspiration. It also carries the meaning of the English word 'mind', which stands for 'mind, intellect, brain, spirit, feelings, opinion, persuasion, memory', so in short: our soul.

Dojo (pronounce like do-djo) stands for the school, the path, so your club.

With Shu Shin Dojo you will go further than just training, it is a development of your personality.
